Well reader, I told you about the S.S.S.R., right? Well, you know, I didn’t know the full form. The Staff Special Spooky Room was just a guess. So now let’s continue the awesome story you were reading.
We ran straight to the manager and complained to him. The manager said, “Don’t ever go to the S.S.S.R. There are many machines kept there and you may hurt yourself”. But this answer did not satisfy us. So we complained to the staff but they were of no help. We complained to the chefs but they were of no help either. What could we do? Nobody helped us. We were stuck in the hotel.
Suddenly, a very old lady came. She said, “I can help you”. Looking at her, she didn’t seem like she could help us.
“Well, we don’t think you will be able to help”, I said.
“But I can certainly tell you about the ghosts”, she replied.
“You know about the ghosts?” I asked.
“Yes, I know!” she replied, “I have even gone inside.”
“Ooooh,” I said. “Then can you tell me S.S.S.R’s full form?” I asked.
“No, it’s a big mystery. Nobody knows it except the manager. He has a book in which it is written about the S.S.S.R.”, she replied.
“Well,” I said, “Then tomorrow morning all of us will go to the manager’s room and find the book.”
The next day, before dawn, we got up and went to the cafeteria which the janitor had forgotten to lock. We went inside and searched for the manager’s room’s keys. We searched here, there…we looked at every nook and corner. Where was it???
“Let’s give up!” I said, “We can’t find it!”
“No!”, replied the old woman, “We just can’t give up so easily. We have to stop the ghosts. Also, think about the sweets you will get after finding it.”
“Sweeeets…..”, I replied.
Oh reader, did I tell you I am a junk food addict? I love junk food!
So we went to the kitchen. No key there also. We went to the store. No key either. We went to every single room quietly but we didn’t find the key anywhere. We searched the whole hotel except for the S.S.S.R but no key anywhere. Then the woman said, “Let’s look in the garden!”. But still no luck. No key there too! There was not a bit of hope left in me. But Yash suggested, “Let’s look beneath the manager’s welcome mat.” And there it was, the precious key!
To be continued next month…
